Why does your organization matter?

Why should it matter to me?

Can you answer those questions today? Can you anticipate your customer’s answers in six months? Twelve? Eighteen?

When I speak with purpose-driven executives and consultants, I hear a common refrain. The biggest challenge in navigating the COVID-19 era is uncertainty. Here’s a piece of advice. This level of uncertainty is the new certain. Welcome to certain uncertainty. 

What can you be certain about? Your customers are asking themselves these two questions. 

Build a bit of certainty into your team’s routine. Ask your customers what matters and what matters most. Ask with confidence and compassion. Then act on what you’ve learned. Rather than frittering away time on social media, wondering about the issue of the day for which you have absolutely no control, focus on the things you do control.

  • Understand your customer
  • Deliver mission value
  • Celebrate impact
  • Rinse and repeat (as a friend likes to say)

You can be 100% certain that your customer is asking themselves those questions about your purpose-driven organization. You can’t afford to not know their answers.

Adopting a customer mindset is your crucial step in being certain about your organization’s future.
